What is #EVChat, and why would I want to partake?
#EVChat is a “chat”, or a real-time conversation on Twitter, designed for industry professionals, enthusiasts and prospective EV consumers. We cover different topics each week, and our objective is to create an environment where stimulating dialogue gives way to insights and ideas that benefit all participants.
Does the idea of taking time out of your busy day to have a chat on twitter sound silly, and like a potential waste of time? We used to think so too, until we began to participate in the highly regarded #EnergyChat – we then realized that the EV community would benefit from something similar.
You will get perspectives from EV professionals, enthusiasts, and newbies from across the world. You will network with them, and if you become one of the many regular participants, you may be pleasantly surprised to feel that you are among friends. The myriad benefits of participating in an online chat community that focuses on topics that are important to you, both personally and professionally, can only be fully appreciated once you’ve experienced them yourself. To put your finger on the pulse, come try it out. This is social media at its best!

How can I be part of it?
We meet every Monday from 12:00 to 12:30 PDT (or 15:00 to 15:30 EDT or 21:00 to 21:30 CET). There is an easy-to-use website called tweetchat.com that is designed specifically for the purpose of online chats. Follow the link we’ve provided, or go to the site and enter #EVChat. You don’t even need a Twitter account to follow the conversation (but if you want to add your voice, you will need to create one).
You Hosts
#EVChat is hosted by two long-time EV experts and enthusiasts with complementary professional backgrounds relating to both the technical and business aspects of EVs. Olmo Mezger is the CEO of The Green & Energy Consulting Group, and Remy Tennant is principal and founder of Cleantech Media Solutions. EVChat also regularly features guest hosts, typically influential thought leaders from the field. Follow Olmo and Remy and get their tweets about #EVChat and other related topics.
Olmo and Remy have long been discussing electric cars, and they have often lamented the lack of public awareness and widespread misinformation about EVs. With so much to say (and so many people they think need to hear it), they decided they should take to the Social Web to broadcast their message. #EVChat is just one of the many ways they do this.
